How to: beat exam stress.. kind of

Hello you lovely people, this post is simply, beating exam stress.. you year 11 students going through GCSE’s, I FEEL YA, last year was a total mess because panicking and cramming and ohmylord it was a nightmare, unfortunately it DOES NOT get easier, AS and A levels will equally want to make you rip your eyeballs out or quit life to become a dolphin idk,

So here are my top tips for beating.. or maybe lowering your stress, a little, (Not 100% accurate)

1. Revise in chunks, ignore the revision plans that the teachers give you because they still havent realised WE’RE ALL DIFFERENT LEARNERS, WHETHER YOU’RE VISUAL, KINASTHETIC OR THAT OTHER ONE, just find a revising style that suits you, personally I love making colourful notes and spider diagrams whereas other people love just reading from the books!

2. Take a long bath to just de’stress and relax!
Whether you’re a guy or a girl, long baths can actually be JUST what you need, sometimes I switch off from revision and just take a long bath, obviously including bubbles.. what kind of bath doesnt have loads of bubbles?

3. Clear spaces make a clear mind.. apparently? Have I just made that up?
Seriously though, revise in a clear space, like a really clear desk will honestly make things feel easier, neat and tidy desk and papers and you can just have a candle going or something, I dont understand how it works but trust me you’ll thank me for this somewhat useless advice, clear your desk and you’ll be a’okay to revise!

4. SNACKS.
To prevent you from aimlessly wandering here there and everywhere, just set some snacks out beside you.. preferably healthy ones, and water or fresh orange juice to just keep you awake and feeling good!.. although I always have chocolate and a latte.. your choice,

5. Take breaks, not like me though, dont do 10 minutes of revision and reward yourself with a 30minute browsing your social media sites session, set your revision out like a school day (if you’re on study leave like me)
Have a break when its break time, have lunch when its lunch time!.. and stick to your time! Dont have extended breaks!

Making a routine more structured will make you feel hella’ more organised!

AND FINALLY,
6. DO NOT CRAM.
CRAMMING IS THE WORST.
IT MAY WORK IF YOU HAVE AN ESSAY DUE THE DAY AFTER BUT FOR EXAMS IT WILL DEFINITELY NOT WORK.

Pace your revision, dont make it take over your life but dont avoid it completely!
After each exam, just forget about it, que cera cera and all that, what will be will be!
OPTIONAL: ignore all points of de’stressing and just take your anger out on the education system for basing our lives on a series of exams.. thats usually my preferred choice!
gordon-2No but seriously, I know everyones exams have already begun but I wish you the best of luck and if you do amazingly, congrats!,
If you dont, seriously dont worry, If you tried your best then thats all you can do, just keep trying!

I hope my advice is of somewhat some slight use to you all,
until the next time!
