Monthly Favourites | August 2014

Summer is practically over! *boo* *hiss*
But on the lighter note it’s time for my monthly favourites!!

I’m going to jump right in and and talk about my beauty and makeup must haves that I’ve been loving this month!,

Having oily skin and often getting spots.. A lot of spots. I thought I should take the month to focus on tightening my pores to reduce this problem and so I went into boots and bought a sanctuary travel sized bottle of the pore refining toner so I could take it away with me on holiday!
To apply you simply dab some onto a cotton wool pad and sweep over your face and neck, I focus on my T’zone the most as that is where I have the most open pores I guess?
Overall I absolutely LOVE this product and will definitely be purchasing the full sized bottle,
you can find these travel sized miniatures of your favourite products in boots and they’re currently 3 for 2 !

Garnier “Ambre solare” After sun sorbet,
This product speaks for itself, due to my pasty complexion buying an aftersun whilst going on holiday was an absolutely necessity and this one, along with its creamy texture also smells DIVINE of pomegranate and I just feel that it moisturises my skin perfectly!
You can pick this up in other scents I believe there is a green one too, I bought mine from bodycare for very cheap but this can be bought from any supermarket such as Tesco and Asda.

Real Technique face/base starter brushes,
I bought these babies on the plane on the way to Alicante and for SUCH a bargain!
Im only ever used to my MUA brushes and so of course I was really excited and eager to try out these brushes!
First things first (Im not the realest) but they are SO SOFT.
And the packaging is perfect as it is a carry case and turns into a stand!, each brush has its own purpose, the kit contains a contouring brush,  detail brush for either concealer or lipstick, a liquid foundation brush and a powder/blusher/buffing brush!
I am extremely impressed with the quality of these makeup brushes and I feel they make the application and the length of my makeup looks and lasts a lot longer!
I think I will definitely be investing in some more of these brushes as I adore them and need more in my life!

Avon eyeshadow crayon in “Gold Rush”
First of all, this is THE most pigmented eye shadow crayon ive EVER tried, the gold glitter is so pigmented and it lasts for so so long!
Avon’s products are extremely affordable and their products are often surprisingly amazing and as you can see from this photo, the colour is just amazingly pigmented and it was only £3/£4 and it was just a bargain, it does dry out after a while and feels as though you have glitter on your eyes but for a night out I feel this is perfect!

Ring Sets,
Usually I only wear the odd ring on my finger but recently I have been loving ring sets, I love how it doesnt matter in which order you wear them its totally up to you and midi rings give a different feel to rings and they just look very grungy and boho like so of course, I couldnt resist but buy a few sets so I can swap and change and mix and match to my hearts content!

 Collars of all kinds!
I have been loving collared items of clothing for so long, even as a baby my dresses would have some form of peter pan collar on and every fall/winter my wardrobe will be absolutely full of collars.
Now that Summer has come to an end, the collars have returned with full force!
I went college clothes shopping and came back with numerous jumpers, t’shirts, blouses etc. all with collars on as they are my absolute favourite, especially this month!

Yankee Candles have been missing in my monthly favourites for far too long, so this time my monthly favourite is a Yankee Candle I recieved from my parents after results day and it is the ‘Summer Scoop’
It smells EXACTLY like strawberry/mixed berry ice cream but in a candle, the thing I absolutely love about Yankee Candles is that their smell is so strong and they match their names perfectly!

Thats it for my monthly favourites for August!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this, here is the link to my video form over on my channel at
